FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO HEAVEN FRESH IONIC AIR PURIFIERS CLEAN THE AIR?
Outdoor air has a combination of positive and negative ions. Negative ions are produced by running water such as mountain streams, water falls, ocean sides and rainstorms. Our units create negative ions which magnetically attach themselves to contaminate and allergens, which are positively charged causing them to cluster together. As a result, they become too heavy to remain floating in the air and fall harmlessly to the ground where they cannot find their way into our lungs.
DO HEAVEN FRESH AIR PURIFIERS PRODUCE OZONE?
IF SO, HOW MUCH, AND ARE THEY SAFE?
  • Our air purifiers produce .015 to .04 ppm (parts per million) 8 hours average which is approximately half of International Government Standards (see chart below).
  • Active Oxygen (Ozone 03) is produced as a by-product of the ionization process. Our units purify the air using ionic technology that generates large quantities of negative ions and very minimal amount of active oxygen (Ozone 03) that produced as a result of the ionization process.
  • For reference, the ozone amount measured in forest air is in the range of 0.01 to 0.02 ppm.

WHICH UNITS PRODUCE THE LEAST AMOUNT OF OZONE?
  • HF-380: Produces almost no ozone (0.008 ppm of Active Oxygen (Ozone 03) while producing 12 million negative ions per cm³).
  • HF-300-C: Ozone may be turned off completely by turning off “Sanitizer” function (a disinfectant which eliminates strong odors).
THE OZONE ODOR IS TOO STRONG, WHAT DO I DO?
  • For smaller rooms, run the unit on low setting (unit will run intermittently) which will significantly reduce the production of ozone and negative ions. Or move unit to another location periodically (as the space is small, the unit does not require to run continuously).
  • For bedrooms, do not operate the unit continuously, or run at low setting since negative ions have a tendency to keep people alert and active.
HOW LONG DOES OZONE ODOR LAST?
  • Initially the unit has to produce a larger production of negative ions. As a result, a higher amount of ozone as a by-product is produced. Once the air is cleaned, the production of negative ions and ozone are reduced. After using the unit for a few weeks, you will notice the odor becoming significantly neutralized (you will smell this odor only if you are very close to the unit).
OZONE GUARD: DO UNITS HAVE AN OZONE GUARD?
  • Units do not have an ozone guard because the ozone production is very minimal.
OZONE TESTING: HOW DO WE TEST OZONE LEVELS?

  • You may purchase a meter to test the zone.
  • You may have an air quality test done on your house which will measure Ozone to CO (carbon monoxide) - Co2 (carbon dioxide).
